Hagi ware
Masami Tomehara
After training at Miwa Kiln, a traditional Hagi ware pottery, Tomehara began producing his own works at Towa Kiln, which was opened by his father Noburo.
Toshihara, who studied animal husbandry at university, continues to focus on the creation of living things in his pottery. By carefully polishing the black pottery, the color tones that do not actually exist yet have a lively feel to the skin, and the lustrous eyeballs colored with colored glaze one by one. vitality is expressed.
In recent years, he has adopted the motif of butterflies as a symbol of rebirth, and has incorporated life, death, and even rebirth into his works. It is a work that incorporates the figurative expression within himself after training in a traditional Hagi ware pottery.

Please enjoy.
