上田敦之氏が手掛ける、萩焼の波文金彩陶板が入荷しました。萩焼とは、山口県萩市で生産される陶器の一種。数百年以上の歴史を持ち、日本の伝統工芸品のひとつとして数えられています。この陶板は、萩焼の美しさと上田敦之氏のセンスが見事に融合したモダンな作品です。

波紋の模様は、染象嵌の技法を用いて陶器の表面に釉薬を埋め込んでいます。また金彩を施した表面は、光の加減によっては煌びやかに輝くのです。

Hagi-yaki wave-patterned gold-colored ceramic plates made by Atsuyuki Ueda are now in stock. Hagiyaki is a type of pottery produced in Hagi City, Yamaguchi Prefecture. It has a history of over several hundred years and is considered one of Japan's traditional crafts. This ceramic plate is a modern work that perfectly combines the beauty of Hagiyaki and Atsuyuki Ueda's sense.

The ripple pattern is created by embedding glaze into the surface of the pottery using the dye inlay technique. Also, the gold-plated surface shines brilliantly depending on the lighting.
